Overview
The work of QMusic is critical to the success of Queensland’s contemporary music economy. It is the only significant and established not-for-profit organisation in Queensland dedicated to delivering sector development and major music events including the Queensland Music Awards and BIGSOUND to stimulate and grow the state’s music sector.
However, Covid-19 had devastating effects on the music industry and QMusic was also impacted. Faced with resource challenges and the need to rebuild their programs, QMusic sought the support of &Connery to enhance their grant writing strategies, streamline their application process, and ultimately secure funding for their projects.
QMusic and &Connery collaborated to conduct a comprehensive assessment of their funding needs and long-term objectives. This involved reviewing past grant applications, analysing program data, and identifying areas for improvement.
We conducted in-depth research to identify potential funding sources aligned with QMusic’s mission. They also provided guidance on building relationships with funders, ensuring a personalised and strategic approach.

2022 Results
The support of &Connery helped QMusic secure a 100% success rate for grant applications, raised over $1.4M, and gave QMusic the confidence to continue stimulating growth for the sector.
